Abstract. The article analyzes the quality of the dissertation research on the activities of the teacher-mentor at the University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, aimed at forming the professional and moral position of the cadet. On the example of a certain dissertation, the qualities of a successful scientific and pedagogical research are highlighted.
