Abstract: The article deals with the main aspects and difficulties of teaching Latin to overseas students at the medical university. Abstract: Video games have become a part of our lives. They are tightly "wedged" into popular culture and, for the most part, are a special kind of art. They are of great importance to people, along with cinema, books and other leisure activities. The methodology of teaching translation and localization of video games has not yet been sufficiently studied, hence there is a need to develop theoretical and practical knowledge in this field. This paper examines various aspects of translating realities in video games using the example of translating the first-person role-playing game Fallout: New Vegas released in 2011 and officially localized by the 1C company. The classification of non-equivalent vocabulary and realities, compiled by well-known linguists is presented. The results of the study of the realities of video games are presented. Translation transformations applied in the translation process, as well as the most common transformations are identified.
Keywords: localization, video game translation, adequate translation, translation techniques, teaching translation.
