Abstract. The parent of orientation influence on the development of communicative competences, self-perception, behavior, components of emotional intelligence, values, personality, and life strategies, which requires detailed research. This is the relevance of our research. Factors such as the number of parents and children in the family are key in this study since they may have a significant influence on the life of a young person. One of the factors of social adaptation is adequate expression and recognition of emotions. So emotional intelligence was chosen by us as the object of this study. This study aims study is to identify features in the influence of the family of orientation structure on emotional intelligence in modern youth. This study used a standardized data collection method: an Emotional Intelligence questionnaire (D. B. Lyusin). Socio-demographic indicators of the respondents were identified through a questionnaire. The data were collected and statistically analyzed using Mann-Whitney U-test for Independent samples and single-factor analysis of variance. As a result of the study, conclusions were obtained about how the presence of siblings affects the level of the development of the ability to control one's own emotions. The presence of a person full of the family of orientation has a positive effect on the development of the ability to understand and manage their own and others' emotions. The research task was to continue the study of this phenomenon in the framework of family psychology to clarify the reasons depending on the influence of these factors on the development of the components of emotional intelligence. The obtained results can be applied in family psychological counseling and corrective-development work with clients taking into account the structure of their parent family.
